The Japanese phone is expected to release its flagship lineup of smartphones early next month. There are rumors hinting that the company’s flagship device, the Xperia Z4 and the company’s flagship phablet, the Z4 Ultra will be unveiled on January the 5th. While we have a penchant for large screen smartphones, the last time the company release a phone bearing the ‘Ultra’ name right at the end, it featured a 6.4 inch screen. While the Sony Xperia Z Ultra was perfect, the only thing that prevented us from actually purchasing the device was its 8 MP rear camera that did not possess an LED flash.
Sony is considered to possess an unmatched judgment when it comes to smartphone cameras so we are hoping that the company will be making amends with the upcoming devices. Another device, called the Z4 Compact is also rumored to be in the works. According to ANDROIDORIGIN, the Z4 Compact is reported to possess a 4.7 inch screen size, a 1080p display, the formidable Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, and a 20.7 MP and 5 MP rear and front camera respectively.
Coming to the phablet side of things, Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra will allegedly possess a massive 6.44 inch Quad HD display with a 16 MP rear camera and 4 GB of RAM. While the 4 GB of RAM is a bit overkill, the real performance standards will be set by the device’s chipset, which we are dying to see. However, what we feel is that Sony should not immediately release all three devices in a single go, as it will spread out their profit margins for each device. However, releasing all three devices in a single go will also allow a wide area of selection for smartphone fanatics; choosing to appease their smartphone requirements with a compact, regular or phablet sized device.
