After the success of the HTC One M8, HTC is currently working its successor, which speculations indicate will not have the model name One M9, as the company will be looking to incorporate a different name to its upcoming flagship devices. Currently, rumors have suggested that the upcoming device is being called the HTC Hima, but apart from that, additional news unearthed are leaning to the fact that HTC is in the midst of releasing more than just one handset; the HTC Hima Ace and the HTC Hima Ultra.
According to @upleaks, which is perhaps the only authentic and accurate source when it comes to the leaks of smartphones, the HTC Hima Ace will be incorporated by a MediaTek chipset. If the news has not struck you yet, the HTC Hima Ace is expected to be a cheaper, plastic exterior variant to the Hima, which should be running a 64 bit capable Snapdragon 810 chipset. Additional news coming from the leak states that the Hima Ultra; the varaint which will be targeted to the Chinese market will be running a MediaTek chipset as well.
As the name suggests, the Hima Ultra will most likely possess a screen size that will be larger than the 5.5 inch form factor of the regular HTC Hima. The name ‘Ultra’ is same term that is used to differentiate Sony’s Xperia handsets. While nothing is certain, there is a possibility that HTC will be showcasing its Hima offering during the first quarter of 2015 at a completely separate event.
In addition to the larger screen size, the HTC Hima Ultra’s alleged larger form factor will also allow the company to incorporate a beefier battery for added life span. We are actually excited to see that HTC is following the same footsteps as Sony; planning to unveil a flurry of devices as quickly as possible.
