Motorola’s Moto 360 and Samsung’s Galaxy Gear are not the only wearables that are attempting to snare a piece of the smartwatch industry. This is because LG has officially launched its G Watch R smartwatch, where Google Play being the first of many places where interested tech enthusiasts can purchase one. Official shipments of the device will start in early November, with the wearable being available to purchase at retail locations across Europe. Those locations will be UK, Germany, France, and Italy.
In addition, the G Watch R will also become available in the North America and Asia region. As for the price, the G Watch R will come stamped with a price of €299 in Europe (due to shipment and additional taxes), while consumers living in the US will not have to work too hard to purchase one as the device will be priced at $299.
The G Watch R will be running Google’s modified Android OS called Android Wear and is considered to be the first smartwatch to be possessing a completely round display. Furthermore, the display size of the smartwatch will be a 1.3 inch P-OLED display that will be radiating a 320 x 320 resolution. Since the G Watch R is IP57 certified, its chassis will be dust and water resistant, with a smart percentage of its body comprised up of stainless steel.
The chipset running on the device will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 processor, while the amount of RAM fitted on to it will be 512 MB. The smartwatch will comprise up of 4 GB of internal memory and to provide sufficient juice to the device, a 410 mAh will be included.
